Philosophy and History
Background Information It is more
important than ever to demonstrate means of cultivating food that do not have a
negative effect on our planet and its inhabitants and is also safe, healthful
and free of contamination. Hydroponics, organic culture,
aquaculture, and
the combination of these technologies, aquaponics, all can be used to produce
large quantities of food in very small spaces in an environmentally friendly
way. Whether applied in small backyard gardens or commercial operations, these
technologies are the way of the future.
Rebecca Nelson and John Pade, the directors of
Nelson and Pade, Inc., have an intense interest in aquaponic,
organic and hydroponic culture. In publishing the
Aquaponics Journal,
consulting
on hydroponic and aquaponic and producing a variety of
informational products on these subjects, they share experience, knowledge and
information accumulated through many years of hands-on commercial hydroponic and
aquaponic production and research.
Currently, John and Rebecca
publish the Aquaponics Journal,
CD-Roms, videos, books and school curriculums on
hydroponics, aquaponics and aquaculture, plus they offer
consulting
services to people interested in getting into hydroponics or aquaponics on a commercial,
educational or hobby scale.
Their knowledge of hydroponic and
aquaponic technology stems from years of research and hands-on,
successful operation of a commercial hydroponic and aquaponic
facility. In addition, they have helped many others get started
in hydroponics and aquaponics. The specific areas of experience
we have include commercial hydroponic growing, aquaponics,
system design, specialty crop marketing, greenhouse
construction, training and education and agri-tourism.
Due to the increased demand for
complete packaged aquaponic systems, Nelson and Pade now offer
equipment packages that are proven
to work. From desktop kits to backyard aquaponic gardens
to commercial greenhouse packages, there is a package ready for
you to order today. We don't believe in re-inventing the
wheel. Aquaponics and hydroponics are proven technologies
that can provide both food and income.
Consulting, teaching and other
business interests have taken Nelson and Pade to over 20
countries around the world, including Spain, France, England,
Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Fiji, Australia, Aruba, Jamaica, St.
Kitts/Nevis, Antigua, Mexico, Honduras, Panama and Costa
Rica.
