Aquaponics, the combination of fish farming and hydroponics, allows you
to grow fish and plants in a recirculating system while demonstrating many
phases of science, biology, botany and high-tech agriculture. In an
aquaponic system, the fish consume food and excrete waste, primarily in
the form of ammonia. Beneficial bacteria convert the ammonia to nitrite
and then to nitrate which the plants consume, helping to purify the water
in the process.
The Aquaponics Curriculum DVD Plus Packageis designed for grades
