Nelson and Pade, Inc. is working with Dr. Sue Raftery on the development of a large scale aquaponic venture that will supply fresh, locally grown fish and vegetables to Northern Ohio communities.

Nelson and Pade, Inc.is working on the development of a commercial aquaponic facility in upstate New York.

Aquaponic, Hydroponic Agri-tourism Greenhouse Project,
in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Nelson and Pade are currently designing an agri-tourism greenhouse for Sid's Ponds and Gardenscapes in Hornby, Ontario, Canada (just outside of Toronto).  The project, which is planned to be completed and open for visitors this fall, will contain a unique display of aquaponic and hydroponic displays.  The facility will be open for tours, and school groups, students and the general public will be encouraged to visit.  Learn more about Sid's Garden Ponds Project

Summer Camp Adds Aquaponics, Hydroponics
Camp Stone, an Orthodox Jewish summer camp in western Pennsylvania, is using aquaponics and hydroponics to demonstrate sustainable, soiless farming techniques.  In May, Nelson and Pade set up an aquaponic growing system in the camp's 30' x 60' greenhouse.

Honokaa' High School Aquaponics Project
Rebecca Nelson and John Pade, Terry Astro, Aurea, Inc., and Nathan Kawashima, Ag Teacher at Honokaa' High School, are collaborating on the development and implementation of an aquaponics program at Honokaa' High School on the Big Island of Hawaii

Aurea, Inc. Aquaponic Technology Center, Puanluu', Hawaii
Nelson/Pade is assisting Terry Astro, Aurea, Inc., in planning a high-tech, innovative aquaponic farm project on their 40 acre-farm in the Hamakua District.  This farm will incorporate aquaculture, aquaponics, hydroponics and greenhouse growing for the purpose of commercial food production as well as agri-tourism, education and technology transfer.

Recent Projects

International Hydroponics Congress, Costa Rica
Rebecca Nelson and John Pade were featured speakers at the International Congress on Hydroponics in Costa Rica.  Presentations included two comprehensive talks on aquaponics.  The presentations were spoken in English and translated into Spanish. Nelson and Pade also had an aquaponics display at the conference tradeshow.  There was a lot of interest in aquaponics shown by conference attendees.

The House of Greens,  Hydroponic Lettuce and Herbs, Merced, California
Nelson/Pade recently oversaw the construction of a 30' x 124' greenhouse for The House of Greens in Merced, CA.  They are now up and running using an NFT growing system to grow fancy lettuce and a variety of herbs.

Organic/Hydroponic Lettuce and Herbs, Hamden, Connecticut
Nelson/Pade completed a project report for this hydroponic lettuce and herb greenhouse and was onsite to oversee the construction and ensure the project was off to a good start.  The owner, who will be starting out with a 2-bay, 44’ x 156’ greenhouse with plans to expand to 6 bays on the existing site.

Aquaponics at Winsted, CT High School
Five aquaponic systems were installed by Nelson/Pade at the Winsted High School Agriculture Department. This innovative project will enable high school students the opportunity for hands-on learning in aquaponic food production.

Large Commercial Aquaponic Greenhouse
Nelson/Pade assisted with the planning, design,  development and construction of this 18,000 sq. ft. greenhouse in Illinois.  The plants are grown in the float system and the fish are raised in round tanks.  The water constantly recirculates through the float beds and back to the fish tanks.

Hydroponic Lettuce and Herbs, plus Agri-Tourism, Claremont, Jamaica
Nelson/Pade prepared a feasibility study for this exciting project in Jamaica, which will incorporate NFT hydroponics for growing fancy lettuce and herbs in a 10,000+ square foot greenhouse on a 330 acre farm, overlooking Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  More photos and info.  This project is currently in the funding process.

Aquaponic Farms in Pretoria, South Africa
Nelson/Pade assisted a South African businessman in planning and designing a community-wide aquaponic project in which a central farm will supply seedlings and fingerlings to satellite production farms.
