A ˝ acre aquaponic facility currently under construction in Baldwin, Wisconsin, is seeking applications for management positions.  The greenhouse will utilize bio-gas from the Baldwin Dairy to provide heat and energy to the greenhouse.  Raft aquaponic systems will utilize fish waste for growing plants, in recirculating systems.  The result will be daily harvests of fancy lettuce and herbs and weekly harvests of fish. 

Management Position
Greenhouse Workers

Manager Needed for Commercial
Aquaponic (Aquaculture + Hydroponics) Greenhouse

Individuals with experience in some or all of the following areas are encouraged to submit a resume: aquaponics, aquaculture, hydroponics, greenhouse management, project management, crop management, biology, horticulture.    Training on specific equipment and processes will be provided to the manager, as needed.

The Manager will work closely with the owners to ensure continuous crop production, proper environmental control and productive employee management.  This person must be self-motivated, an excellent communicator and capable of organizing tasks and workers to achieve the end goal of profitable, continuous fish and plant production.  Specific responsibilities of the manager include: 

  • Oversee all aspects of fish and plant production

  • Manage fish and plant production processes

  • Daily water quality testing and analysis

  • Schedule and ensure completion of daily seeding, transplanting harvesting and packing of produce

  • Oversee, organize and schedule employees to ensure all jobs are completed

  • Assist with transplanting, harvesting, testing and any other area of operation when necessary. 

  • Troubleshoot crop, fish, culture system, pest and disease problems 

  • Be on-call for major greenhouse problems

  • Daily checks of all mechanical equipment, including the generators, heating, cooling, gear motors, pumps and greenhouse covering and initiate any repairs needed.

  • Troubleshot and maintain greenhouse, mechanical and environmental components.

  • Being on-call for major problems, i.e.: power outages, equipment failure.

Compensation Commensurate with experience.

Training on specific equipment and processes will be provided to the workers, as needed.
